Hard to imagine a tower project without the genius
of Nouvel. Marseille assigned him to its most iconic

38 project: the Marseillaise, a blue, white and red tower
that proudly represents France’s second city. Whilst the
blue is reminiscent of the sky, the white of the clouds,
and the red of the city’s rooftops, its reflections ripple
onto its sparkling sun screens.

Culminating at a height of 147 meters, the soft curves
of this colossal glass tower breathe new life into
Marseille’s business district and its port. The facade
conjures up the prow of a ship in tribute to the home of
the world’s third largest marine transportation group.
